Kids and BJJ competition First of all, the competition should be fun. We also encourage parents to communicate with their children about the ups and downs of competition and what life lessons can be learned through the training. At Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu we understand that kids have a lot of activities going on in their lives, however students must be consistent in their training before considering registering for a championship. Showing up to the classes, showing heart, learning and practising techniques, drilling and rolling with team mates are very important to get ready to compete. Regardless of the outcome of the day, we expect the children to have fun and we make sure to let them how proud we are of them. It can be a huge experience on how to deal with pressure, problem solving, and adversity. It’s an amazing way for them to learn, gain mental toughness, and have fun showing off their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We also recommend to always talk to the coaches before registering for any competition. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know.
