On last saturday, we started writing the next chapter of Ribeiro's #6Bladeslegacy with the opening of the Engadine academy. From a single academy in Taren Point a few years ago to three locations in the wider Sydney area today. A special thank you to everyone that made it possible -- and everyone that showed up to support us on this epic journey. We will teach Bjj classes daily for adults and kids. All the coaches and instructors are very exciting to meet up the local people and share the knowledge. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a lifestyle and the most effective martial art in the world. Be part of our Bjj family! * Family * Respect * Loyalty * Discipline * Attitude * Honour * OSS 👊

We never stop learn. The martial arts game make you stay update and always evolve. Sensei Bernardo "Trekko" Magalhaes is specialised in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Black Belt 4th Dan, and also a former UFC fighter and Australian best MMA (13-4). He has been practicing others martial arts, such as, Kickboxing, boxing, Sambo and Judo, to improve the knowledge and also to be able to share all kind of experience with the Ribeiro's students. Sensei did compete the Sambo Grappling NSW tournament last weekend at Fight Lab, Tempe, and won the gold medal in the division under 82kg. He believes competition isn't a must, however it helps you learn faster and also improve many life skills, as take decision under pressure, discipline, self-confidence and work hard. Our academies, Taren Point, Fairy Meadow and Engadine, have space for all levels and we teach from kids 3+ to ... If you would like to try a sport which is going to help you achieve your personal goals, we fully recommend you book an introductory class and find out it by yourself. Osss Kids and BJJ competition First of all, the competition should be fun. We also encourage parents to communicate with their children about the ups and downs of competition and what life lessons can be learned through the training. At Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu we understand that kids have a lot of activities going on in their lives, however students must be consistent in their training before considering registering for a championship. Showing up to the classes, showing heart, learning and practising techniques, drilling and rolling with team mates are very important to get ready to compete. Regardless of the outcome of the day, we expect the children to have fun and we make sure to let them how proud we are of them. It can be a huge experience on how to deal with pressure, problem solving, and adversity. It’s an amazing way for them to learn, gain mental toughness, and have fun showing off their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We also recommend to always talk to the coaches before registering for any competition. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can promote the child's development, not only physically but also the socially and emotionally. Participating in Bjj classes in a balanced, safe and adapted manner can help your child cope and accept delicate emotions. Our academy follows the 6 blades philosophy: Family, Discipline, Respect, Attitude, Loyalty and Honour. The kids learn the best way to defend against the bullies and without get in trouble. They will learn how control the opponents, takedown, keep the top position and get out of the bottom position until an adult helps out. Please contact us if you need more information about our classes for kids from 2 years old. Book a free introductory class this week for your kids! |
